Strategies to Protect Yourself

The following information provided by the Tinley Park Police Department is intended to help victims of identity theft to minimize damage and limit financial liability.  If you suspect that you have been victimized by identity theft, it is very important to take immediate action to protect yourself and your credit.

Instructions for down loading the sample letters
 

1. Click on the sample letters link (Adobe Acrobat reader will open in a new window).
2. Go to the letter you wish to copy
3. Left click and highlight the letter content.
4. Right click and select copy
5. Open up your word processing program such as Microsoft Word, Works, Word Perfect, etc.
6. Right click again.
7. Select paste
8. Edit the document as needed.
